Acquired the premises by businessman Pedro Trapote, the nightclub was opened on the night of February 24, 1981, the day after the coup d'état perpetrated in the Congress of Deputies. Soon it would become one of the places of leisure of reference in Madrid. During the 1980s, it was the site of a concentration of characters from the so-called Movida from Madrid. Joy Eslava has continued to host concerts, parties and various social events con participación de famosos como Roger Moore, Pedro Almodóvar, Stevie Wonder o Julio Iglesias.
